Young Goodman Brown by Deangelo Toles

Overall, this was a good short story even tho it took me a minute to figure out what the story was really about. I had to go back & read certain parts over because I really couldn't understand the terminology that was being worded in the story. After, we went over it in class, it started to make alot more sense. So I went home and read it over and I started to understand the story & what Hawthorne was really getting at.

    Good! Yeah, Hawthorne demands tenacity, I think. Glad you were able to snatch some meaning from the story. ...So what did you think? Was Goodman Brown a ruined man? Or an enlightened one?

    Do you think what Goodman saw in the forest was revelatory or deceptive??
