Young Goodman Brown...Rachel Shelton

I am really not sure why the author put the question at the end of the story it could be that he wanted his audience to think, or it could be he wanted his audience to maybe end the story with optimism This particular story was kind of strange... i personally don't think the story would have changed much if it were a dream or not because he still lived his life in "gloom" he still believes that they were part of the dark side/evil... so nothing in particular changes. I personally don't believe the narrator question mattered or made a difference because like i said nothing really changed
