The clip from Gladiator the director Ridley Scott I chose the scene when Maximus Decimus announced his name to the King. In this scene the director uses a lot of close up shots in order to let the viewers see the facial expression on the various actors faces. It also captures the feeling of power that he has by using low shots looking up. He then uses a long shot at the end to show effect of the crowd and include them in the scene. The best principal actor of this scene is Maximus Decimus played by Russell Crowe because he used his body language effectively express that he won’t back down from anything.
The Music and sound was the most important and dramatic part of this scene. It captured the mood and the feeling of every moment. It also set the tone throughout the whole scene. The louder the music got the more intense the scene became. The crowd noise also got louder and louder to lead to the climax when they are cheering at full capacity.
